BPA- Presentation Management Team.

Yesterday mostly sucked.
The place was really big so we didn’t even know where we were going. Then we realized on the bus that we’d forgotten to grab our little slip of paper, so we didn’t even know what room we were going in. So we had to ask DiMasso. He said that there was a map somewhere, but we couldn’t find it, so we just walked around with our stuff until we found it. When we got into the classroom, there were desks in our way and the room was really small. We figured we’d try and move everything around before the judges got there, which took awhile because we wanted to make sure the judges view wasn’t obstructed by the projector, and we wanted to make sure we all had room to stand without getting in the way of each other.
After we got that finished, we all sat around, and went over how we were going to do things, since we didn’t actually ever practice presenting. At 3:20, the judges still weren’t in there. Then this guy came over and said he’d ‘judge’ our setting up time. I think he found our judges. It turned out they were the same people we saw walking around the hallway earlier, but then disappeared to somewhere. I think we did well when we were actually presenting, especially considering our zero practice.
They didn’t really ask us many questions, just stuff like “How did you make the magnet?” and “Where do you get the paper from?”. One of the judges kind of tried to correct us, because he said Styrofoam is recyclable, but it isn’t. So if he docked points off for that, I’ll be mad. It may be reusable, but not recyclable. He brought up McDonalds and talked about how they were doing it, and I said we’ve researched this stuff, and we never found anything that said it was recyclable. We did get points off though on our music for the training video, because we forgot to cite it. Then they asked us who took the pictures, and I said I did, and they were like “Ooh, good job.” And whatnot. So I think overall we did well. They liked our little folders we put together for them too. Maybe they’ll get good use out of those magnets we put in there. Haha.
