WIWTD

I want to learn how to create more grunge-oriented things in Photoshop and then possibly apply them to flash or maybe to a website or something. I want to make something that also involves cupcakes and blood splatter. I want to make something completely random but still looks sweet. I don’t want to just follow tutorials, I want to be able to say that I made it by using the knowledge I’ve gained from being in IMD. I want to learn the different tools in Photoshop, like how to use them to do just want I want, not just simple things, like we have been doing. I want to be able to make something and not having to stop because I’m not sure how to do it, or it’s not turning out right. I want to be able to manipulate things better so I can have cooler results. I’ll have to start out using tutorials though, but maybe I can use what I learn from those and apply to something better. Then I can be all like "Oh yeah, look how cool I am, I made that." =]

So today, I worked on the different button click things for the different cupcakes, and whatnot.

This is Fred.

This is Fred Jumping.

This is Fred holding a pokeball.

This is Fred dissapearing.

This is Fred spinning around and scrunching up his face in the process.

This is Fred changing different colors. No green though, haha.

And I might make one with a jetpack or things in his shoes that makes him fly.

So I wasn't in Fitzer's class for like half the period because I apparently had the best Cos Coupon or something. So we had to re-do it a couple of times, and then make it white. Then I had to run down to the Cos lab, and make sure Mrs. Weaver liked the final thing. She also asked if we could make a couple blank ones so they could fill in the experation date and how much money it is off. I had to make that then too, and DiMasso printed it off on certain paper, then we were done. So all I got to do in Fitzer's was look up a sunburst tutorial because I think that's what I want my background to look like. I just need to make it more grungy. And add ducttaaaaape! =]

So I made a dripping rainbow thing for my front page, but I didn't like how it looked so I put it on my bio page instead. And the cupcake actully works now. Yay for naming things. haha.

I added more of the drops to my home page.

And this is one all up close. Jeremy made the streak. Good job, Jeremy. Do your own project. =]

So far on my project, I’ve made all the different pages needed, such as the home page, the biography page, and the portfolio page. I’ve gotten my preloader to work fine, though I still can’t figure out how to get the stupid cupcake to work with the preloader. It completely gets rid of the preloader when I add the cupcake to it. And for some reason it puts the cupcake’s arm in place of the preloader. So I need help on that. I still need some sort of background because the one I posted yesterday was stupid. But now they blocked Flickr so now I can’t even look at things. Well, I can, but Flickr was easy because it was JUST pictures, you didn’t have to look for links to see if they actually had pictures or not (which we do if we use google). I’ll try and come up with something tonight, or by Friday, so I can at least have a decent background and I don’t have to worry about it anymore. Oh, and my biography button is being weird. It dissapears once you get to the 2nd frame of my bio section, but it doesnt do anything weird when you ctrl + enter it, but I don't want something to end up happening later. Today I added lines to the hanging thing, and I'm wondering if I should add the raindrop/blood dripping looking thing to the clouds. I tried adding it to the clouds, but I can't really get it to look right. I also added boxes for pictures and text or whatever. I deleted the background from yesterday, and I had to fix some of the stupid buttons.
Bio page, before and now;

Portfolio page, before and now;

And that's what my bio page would look like if I could actully get the stupid cupcake to work with my preloader.

At the beginning of class I had to try and help people because they couldn't get their stuff to work. Then I went on Flickr to try and find decent grungy backgrounds. I ended up putting two together and making it red, but I'm not sure if I like it. I really want a duct tape 'x' somewhere in it. I love duct tape. =]
I just need to get off my lazy bum and do it. And decide how I even want to set it up.

This is the thing I found and edited;
This is what the front page currently looks like;
It makes it stand out. But, yeah, it doesn't fit in.

So for some reason flash won't let me have the preloader and the cupcake, even though they're not even on the same frame or anything. Sooo, I need help with that. It's weird. Yep.
Oh and I fixed the main page because I didn't like the rainbow that I had made originally. Then I added color to it. And I coded all my buttons. So. Taadaa.

I started on the main page and the portfolio page. And I think I'm going to make my own background for the main. I'm just going to take a picture of something.

BPA- Presentation Management Team.

Yesterday mostly sucked.
The place was really big so we didn’t even know where we were going. Then we realized on the bus that we’d forgotten to grab our little slip of paper, so we didn’t even know what room we were going in. So we had to ask DiMasso. He said that there was a map somewhere, but we couldn’t find it, so we just walked around with our stuff until we found it. When we got into the classroom, there were desks in our way and the room was really small. We figured we’d try and move everything around before the judges got there, which took awhile because we wanted to make sure the judges view wasn’t obstructed by the projector, and we wanted to make sure we all had room to stand without getting in the way of each other.
After we got that finished, we all sat around, and went over how we were going to do things, since we didn’t actually ever practice presenting. At 3:20, the judges still weren’t in there. Then this guy came over and said he’d ‘judge’ our setting up time. I think he found our judges. It turned out they were the same people we saw walking around the hallway earlier, but then disappeared to somewhere. I think we did well when we were actually presenting, especially considering our zero practice.
They didn’t really ask us many questions, just stuff like “How did you make the magnet?” and “Where do you get the paper from?”. One of the judges kind of tried to correct us, because he said Styrofoam is recyclable, but it isn’t. So if he docked points off for that, I’ll be mad. It may be reusable, but not recyclable. He brought up McDonalds and talked about how they were doing it, and I said we’ve researched this stuff, and we never found anything that said it was recyclable. We did get points off though on our music for the training video, because we forgot to cite it. Then they asked us who took the pictures, and I said I did, and they were like “Ooh, good job.” And whatnot. So I think overall we did well. They liked our little folders we put together for them too. Maybe they’ll get good use out of those magnets we put in there. Haha.
